i think why most people, including myself, is because we think too much into stuff. i love cars, but only owning 1 car that i use a lot has me very nervous about breaking it when doing things myself, but the truth is, it's not that deep. you take old oil out, put new oil in. you unbolt something. You put the new thing in and bolt it back into place. my car had a coolant line pop off because my engine mount was worn, so it pulled on the hose and caused a leak. first time i had to fill a car with coolant. it was easy. I still gotta get new mounts , so for now, i gotta drive carefully, but the fact is, when i wasn't thinking about it, i got it done easy. soon im gonna get a new radiator to be safe, and it's just gonna be as easy as taking out the old one, putting in the new one, and filling it up/bleeding it. oil changes are no different. as long as you have oil in your car, it's not gonna run dry or blow up. The scariest part is turning the key, but as long as you have oil in it, it'll be fine. It's all about building confidence

Do a video on how it should run before and after a oil change

MemerinoMan says:

So when you’re doing a change on cars that have an oil filter in sideways or upside down, when you replace it and it can’t be filled with oil, will it affect the motor at all since it’s gonna initially run dry?

Galaxy Panda420 says:

If the oil filter is where your engine is it’s almost always gonna be a diesel vehicle not always but almost

what would you suggest on a 6 month layed up car that was below the minimum oil level before i layed it up? Im half afraid to start it . do i top up with a litre first and run it ?

bmp says:

The car needs to be level right for changing oil?

Boo says:

One thing i noticed wasn't mentioned in the video.

If you don't have a breaker bar or a longer 3/8 ratchet, use your dominant hand and hold the head of the ratchet and use your other hand to hammer it. It Helps to loosing the plug easily and you won't likely strip the drain plug head.

Syed hussain says:

Is Oil filter required to be filled?

charles vereschagin says:

I have been changing the oil in the family vehicial for the passed 55 years. I live in Canada and it is Letres and Kilometres. Looks to me like the oil is getting better. In the old days. from the present to way back, Change the oil every two thousand miles, 2.6 KM. So now the manufactures sugest that the chages be every 5000 K.M.That is about 4,000 miles? What"s going on?
