This is a fan requested video that I wish I’d have thought of years ago. If you’re having trouble finding the transmission dipstick on your vehicle, or if you’re just not sure what to look for when checking your automatic transmission fluid, this video is for you.

Great video with very good explanations about checking transmission fluid levels on different vehicles. I do NOT want to be within 10 Light Years of a car without a transmission or engine oil dipstick. Whoever came up with the idea of doing away with dipsticks in cars should be ashamed imo.

I have a ‘91 Chevy like yours and I just changed the trans filter. How much trans fluid do I need to put back in? I pulled out like 3-4 quarts of old fluid.

thank, you for you're video. my, question is I seen a 97, Dodge ram 2500 van for sale. I pulled the trans stick first and took notice that the trans fluid is on the full mark cold with out ever starting up the van. is something wrong here ?

I've got a 2000 Dodge Dakota 4.7, never sure how to check the tranny fluid. Been doing with the egine running.

I have researched a method to check my 05 Kia Sportage trans fluid and it the same way.. (idle in neural) now it’s reading very low 😢
