Donβt forget to check if the old gasket from the old oil filter is stuck on the engine. If you double gasket it causes a leak. Also check your drain pan bolt. Sometimes those bolts also have one time use gaskets on the bolt themselves
I love reading comments on videos like this because suddenly everyone becomes a seasoned 30 year mechanic and knows the best possible way of doing everything. Yes he did miss some points such as replacing the crush washer or letting the engine run for a bit before draining the oil etc.
This thought he was so cool making a how to on the easiest thing but badly misled ppl on jacking up their car with their cab, use the fucking FRAMEπ³
Lmao no torque wrench? No 1/2 to 1 full turn after making contact with the engine block? π bro someone is probably gonna do this thinking itβs all easy then mess up their engine cuz the oil is gonna spill out π
3. Get a pressure washer and soap and clean the engine out. Oil is dirty right like damn.
4. Close the plug.
5. Pour olive oil in as it works just as good as motor oil.
6. Ignore the dipstick, fill it up to the brim. The dipstick is an automotive scam technique, but filling up something completely is the best way to go.
No shaking the oil before pouring? I used to fill the filters, I stopped, since Ford's, and I'm sure most brands all have a flood mode. It spins the motor to flood the engine with oil. Skip steps that aren't needed.
Yes always use motor craft
Iβve never filled the filter with oil
A bolt that drains the oil is called a drain plug. Lol

awesome information for the home mechanic.

This doesn't come close to covering all the filter and drain plug possibilities you might encounter.
Imagine going to a dealer to get oil and filter

No. You never prefill the clean side of a filter. The only oil that goes there is the oil that has gone through the filter.

I like to use a ramp and change the gasket for the drain plug each time

How to do an oil change:
1. Jack it up. On a jack point please.
2. Drain the oil. Duh.
7. Enjoy your car while it lasts!

Itβs not that hard to do Iβm 13 and I can do it in like 10 mins depending on how long the oil takes to drain.
